Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. was a part of ESPN. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first job as a production assistant for Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was hired by the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the border, she was an anchor for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. newscast in English and also another reporter for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. On a family vacation in Ohio, the younger Collins had taken a position with her older sister. Antonietta still a senior at high school, yet she was clear about the career she wanted. So while assessing if Mount Union was right for her Antonietta decided to go visit the school. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she sought. She finished school and enrolled at the university as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
